Troubleshoots
Some of you may face some problems while install it. If you were using Windows 7 x64, the drivers sometime say that your mtp usb driver failed to install. To fix this issue you have to change to mass storage mode, and the driver will recognize it. Then mount your phone from the pull-down menu on Android toolbar, your issue should be fixed now.

How do i upgrade my device and install the drivers for Samsung Captivate?
Before you begin to update your drivers or software make sure that you meet these following requirements:
- Your desktop or laptop must be running 32 bits of Either Microsoft Windows 7, Vista, or XP.
- Disable your antivirus and firewall
- Administrative privileges to download and install the software/drivers
- USB port that support USB 2.0
- Make sure your phone battery is fully charged
- Make sure you has been removed any previous installed Samsung Kies software.
Now, to begin the update you need Kies Mini application, download from the link i provide you above. The next step is to install Kies Mini, follow these steps:
- Double click Kies Mini files, the installation files will be extracted.
- Click next
- Choose “i accept term ...” then click next button
- Installation will begin
- Uncheck "Launch Kies Mini", then click finish.
The next step is to configure device/driver install, follow these steps:
- Enable USB debugging on the phone. To do this go to setting > application > developement > USB debugging. Tap ok.
- Connect the phone to the computer. The computer will detect for new hardware and then install it driver automatically.
- Unplug the cable from your phone then power it off. While inserting the data cable, hold down both the volume up and down button. Now the phone should be entering downloading mode. The computer will install the rest of the driver files. Unplug the phone from computer once the computer has finished. Then remve your phone cover, unplug the battery, plug again your battery to the phone, place you phone cover then power it on.
- Restart your computer
The driver installation is done, now for the last step, device upgrading. To do this, follow these following steps.
- Open Kies Mini then plug your USB cable into the phone.
- Click phone upgrade
- Check " I have read and understood..." then click upgrade button
- Kies mini will begin to download the binnary files.
- Once the download complete, Kies Mini will automatically begin upgrading the device.
- Click ok
Done, now your device has been upgraded.
